Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia is looking forward to the Champions League group stage draw at the end of August in the hope that it will provide an immediate reunion with Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Bayern could be drawn in the same group as Manchester United and Benatia would like to see the Germany captain back in Munich again so soon.
"It would be great to play against Basti in the Champions League," Benatia told Sport1 television.
"That would allow us to see him again. We all loved him in the dressing room, he's a great player.
"He is a great champion who was always smiling. I wish him the best."
Benatia insisted in the same interview that he does not harbour the same desires to leave Bayern, despite plenty of reported interest from clubs in Italy.
"I'm very happy at Bayern and I don't listen to all the rumours which are always going around," he said.
"It's nice to be linked with top clubs -- any player likes that -- but I'm already at an amazing club who want to win everything."
