Martin Caceres set to return for Juventus after club suspension

Martin Caceres is set to return to action for Juventus after being suspended by the Serie A champions after being involved in a road accident prior to the international break.

The Uruguayan crashed his Ferrari into a bus stop in Turin in the early hours of the morning before the Bianconeri were due to face Sevilla in the Champions League.

He was found to be slightly over the legal limit for alcohol and had his licence revoked for six months while his car was also impounded by the police authorities.

Juve immediately dropped him from all club activity, leaving him out of the Sevilla clash and also the subsequent Serie A win over Bologna, but he is to be restored to the first team for training just under three weeks later, in preparation for this weekend's clash with Inter Milan at the San Siro.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 28-year-old will be reintegrated into the first-team once he returns from international duty with Uruguay on Thursday. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be fit to face the Nerazzurri after being forced out of Uruguay's clash with Colombia on Tuesday night after only 15 minutes.

The defender was unable to continue after taking a kick from his Juve teammate Juan Cuadrado, according to Mediaset, and he will head straight to Juve's medical facilities upon arrival back in Italy.
