Uruguayan winger Cristian Rodriguez claims that coach Diego Simeone is like a "God" at La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
Rodriguez was brought to the club in 2012, one year after Simeone took over as head coach at the Vicente Calderon.
Under the guidance of the former Argentina international, Rodriguez won four major titles -- UEFA Super Cup, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and La Liga -- before leaving for stints with Parma, Gremio and Independiente.
There was heartbreak for Rodriguez and Simeone, when they made a superb run to the Champions League final in 2014, only to lose 4-1 to archrivals Real Madrid after extra-time.
Having had so much success with Simeone, the Uruguayan knows the formula as to why the argentine so a revelation at Atletico.
"He put together an excellent coaching staff as well as a very good playing squad," Rodriguez told Marca.
"He is a coach that demands 100 percent from you. He really knows how a dressing room should be, and that helps a lot.
"At the club I think he is like a God. Everyone loves and respects him.
"He is a coach that has lifted many trophies as a coach and a trainer. It's like he is untouchable at the club and the people love him."
Simeone will lead his team out at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday, to face Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal, trailing 2-1 to Luis Enrique's team.
