Liverpool are not planning a move for PSV Eindhoven defender Jetro Willems, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Willems in recent days with Jurgen Klopp in the market for a new left-back as Brad Smith closes in on a switch to Bournemouth.
Klopp has made signing a new left-back one of his top priorities this summer as he looks to bring in cover and competition for Alberto Moreno, but Liverpool have informed Willems' representatives that they have no plans to move for the Netherlands international and will look elsewhere.
Willems is entering the final year of his contract at PSV Eindhoven and sources have told ESPN FC that the 22-year-old is ready to move on in search of a new challenge.
PSV are reluctant to lose Willems but are willing to cash in on the full-back this summer rather than let the player run down his contract at the Philips Stadion.
Liverpool had been targeting a move for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, but sources told ESPN FC last week that the England under-21 international was set to sign a new deal at the King Power Stadium.
