David Barral set for Granada return after hitting Isaac Cuenca

Granada have confirmed that David Barral will return to training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday, six days after he was suspended without pay for hitting a teammate.

Barral, 33, had a confrontation with winger Isaac Cuenca on Nov. 21 during a team lunch at the club's headquarters.

The club opened disciplinary proceedings against the striker, who has trained alone since the incident.

A statement from Granada CF said: "Granada CF has agreed to resolve the disciplinary procedure started against David Barral with a fine.

"Barral will return to train with the squad on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

"Barral admitted to a misconduct and accepted the fine."

Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reported that the Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE) mediated the dispute between the player and the club.

Barral joined Granada on an 18-month contract in January and has made eight league appearances for the Andalusian club.

He missed last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Celta Vigo but could return to action when Granada host Osasuna in Wednesday's Copa del Rey round of 32 first leg.

Granada, coached by Lucas Alcaraz, have yet to win this season and lie at the foot of the standings with five points from 13 games. They host Sevilla on Saturday.
