Eran Zahavi scored twice as Guangzhou R&F moved back to the top of the Chinese Super League standings on Monday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over previously unbeaten Liaoning Whowin.
Israel international Zahavi claimed a brace while Xiao Zhi and Renatinho were also on target as Guangzhou moved a point clear of Shandong Luneng and a further two points ahead of Shanghai SIPG and six-time champions Guangzhou Evergrande.
"We have won this away game 4-1, so I have to congratulate my players," coach Dragan Stojkovic said. "We have played with our own style.
"The credit doesn't only go to Zahavi. We play an integrated football style and the whole team was excellent. I won't comment on him alone. He scored two goals, of course he was excellent.
"I know now we are leading the rankings, but we are not getting carried away by it. My only hope is to make every match a good one, and give our fans happiness."
Zahavi put R&F in front after 18 minutes when he struck from close range as the Liaoning defence failed to clear a corner before James Chamanga levelled the scores from the penalty spot six minutes before the break.
Zahavi, however, put his side back in front in the 61st minute when he scored from outside the area before goals from Xiao and Renatinho completed the club's fourth win in five games.
