In January, he joined NYCFC's sister club Man City on a free transfer and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, but never trained with or played for the Premier League team. He will now spend at least the rest of the 2018 season in Korea.
Diskerud has made 38 appearances with the U.S. national team, scoring six goals, and was part of the 2014 World Cup team. He last appeared for the U.S. on March 25, 2016, in a 2-0 World Cup qualifying defeat against Guatemala.
