"Alejandro has all the attributes to succeed in this league and we believe he will have an immediate impact," LAFC general manager John Thorrington said in a statement. "His qualities will prove to be a good fit with what we're trying to implement this year and we look forward to his contributions over the course of the campaign."
A San Diego native, Guido has been with Club Tijuana since 2012. He scored two goals in 56 appearances and helped the Xolos reach the playoffs last season.
He has represented the U.S. at the U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels, scoring a total of four goals. He was called up to the U.S. men's national team in May of last year to participate in camp.
LAFC open the MLS regular season Sunday at home against Sporting Kansas City.
