Here's a look at best values, worst values and trade targets among free-agent corner infielders.
Best values
Mike Napoli, 1B: I feel a lot better about Napoli now that we've seen him play a year at first base and look very, very good there and have no issues with the hip condition that caused the Red Sox to back out of their initial three-year, $39 million deal with him last winter. He's also an emergency catcher, which is a useful thing to have in the era of pitching staff bloat.
