Sources: UFC adds light heavyweight tilts to card

The UFC is targeting a pair of light heavyweight matchups for a UFC Fight Night event on June 1.

According to multiple sources, former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir will face Ilir Latifi, and Jimi Manuwa has agreed to square off against Aleksandar Rakic. The event is scheduled to take place at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden.

The card has turned into a showcase for the 205-pound division. In addition to the two new matchups, a light heavyweight bout between three-time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson (18-5) and Anthony Smith (31-14) is scheduled to headline.

Oezdemir (15-4) is currently on a three-fight losing streak, with losses to Daniel Cormier, Smith and Dominick Reyes. The Swiss contender had won five in a row prior to the skid.

Latifi (14-6), of Sweden, is looking to bounce back from a decision loss to Corey Anderson in December.

Manuwa (17-5) will look to snap a three-fight skid of his own. The 39-year-old Brit is coming off a down year in 2018, in which he dealt with injury and losses to Jan Blachowicz and Thiago Santos.

Rakic (11-1), of Austria, is 3-0 in the UFC, including a first-round finish against Devin Clark in December.
