OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry had surgery on his right ankle but is expected to be ready by training camp in the fall.
The Warriors said Wednesday the surgery was performed by Dr. Bob Anderson in Charlotte, N.C. Curry missed eight games last season because of multiple sprains on his right ankle.
He still averaged 18.6 points, 5.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. Alongside backcourt teammate Monta Ellis, Curry helped the Warriors to a 36-46 record. That was a 10-game improvement from the previous season.
