Source: Andre Branch to re-sign with Dolphins on 3-year deal

Defensive end Andre Branch is returning to the Miami Dolphins after agreeing to a three-year, $27 million deal with the team, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

The news was first reported by NFL Network.

The Dolphins signed Branch to a one-year contract in 2016, and he was a consistent performer who earned a starting job.

Branch, 27, had the benefit of playing alongside two Pro Bowl defensive linemen in Cameron Wake and Ndamukong Suh, who often were double-teamed. Branch took advantage and in 11 starts for Miami finished with 49 tackles and 5.5 sacks, which was the second-highest total of his career.

Branch was a second-round draft pick (No. 38 overall) of the Jaguars in 2012. He has 19.5 sacks in his career.
