          MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was the first player to cross the end zone and set himself up for a touchdown by showing off some fancy footwork and elusiveness in the process Thursday night.

          With 1:57 to play in the first half, Cook caught a screen pass from Kirk Cousins and danced across the field toward the visiting sideline, making five Washington Redskins defenders miss before an assist from Stefon Diggs in the form of a downfield block brought Cook down inside the 5-yard line.

          Six plays later, Cook rushed four yards into the end zone for a 13-6 Minnesota lead. According to NFL's Next Gen Stats, Dalvin Cook covered 68.6 yards on his 31-yard reception, the most distance covered on a reception in his career, and the third-most by any running back on a reception this season.
