Source: Colts RB Jonathan Taylor has sprained right ankle

MINNEAPOLIS -- Colts All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor was ruled out of Saturday's 39-36 overtime loss to the Vikings with a right ankle injury.

Initial tests revealed Taylor suffered a sprained ankle, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. While it is considered "nothing major," according to the source, Taylor will undergo additional testing.

Taylor left the game on the first series of the day after catching a 13-yard pass, his only touch of the day.

He was examined by trainers on the sideline before moving into the medical tent and eventually the locker room. Taylor has struggled with ankle soreness throughout the season, missing three games over a span of five weeks in October and November.

But he had been slowly improving and figured to have benefited from the Colts' bye last week.

Without Taylor, Zack Moss led the Colts with 81 rushing yards on 24 carries, followed by Deon Jackson's 55 yards on 13 carries. Jackson also had a one-yard touchdown catch.
