Empire State Building lights up for Eagles' win vs. 49ers

When you think of New York City, one of the first things that probably comes to mind is the Empire State Building, the iconic Art Deco skyscraper that has been a fixture of the NYC skyline since 1931. What you probably don't think about is the building lit up to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles making it to the Super Bowl with a 31-7 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Yet, that's exactly what happened on Sunday night, as New Yorkers were treated to a green and white celebration for a team that is definitely not from New York -- and, in fact, defeated the hometown New York Giants just a week ago in this very postseason.

Even more bizarrely, this isn't even the first time the Empire State Building has celebrated the Eagles. The same thing happened to commemorate Philadelphia's 2018 Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots.

New York, come get your universally recognized architectural landmark.
