Sullivan re-signs with Predators

NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- After watching Steve Sullivan average more than a point a game following a mid-season trade, the Nashville Predators re-signed the right wing to a four-year contract on Tuesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but Sullivan made $3 million
in the 2003-04 season, which he began with the Chicago
Blackhawks before being acquired by the Predators.

Sullivan, 31, registered 15 goals and 28 assists in 56 games
with the Blackhawks before being dealt to the Predators on
Feb. 16, 2004, for a second-round selection in the 2004
draft and a second-round pick in the 2005 draft.

In his first game with Nashville two days later, he scored a hat
track in a 7-3 win vs. San Jose. He became just the second
player in NHL history to record 10 points in his first three
games with a new team.

In 597 career games in nine seasons with New Jersey, Toronto,
Chicago and Nashville, Sullivan has 175 goals and 274 assists.

Also Tuesday, the Predators re-signed defenseman Dan Hamhuis to
a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but he
made $1.13 million in 2003-04, his rookie season.

Hamhuis recorded seven goals and 19 assists in 80 games and
finished second on the team in average ice time (22:08).
