Springbok coach Rudolf Straeuli has named three training squads that will assemble three times in October ahead of the Tests against France, Scotland and England in November.
The three Monday training sessions are designed to aid all four Super 12 regions and to also give him an opportunity to scan his eye over between 45 and 50 players each Monday.
The squads have been selected in such a way that the region hosting the day will have access to their own international players and those on the fringes of test selection.
The Sharks will entertain a national elite squad on October 7, followed by the Stormers and the Cats. The Bulls region will practise with the Springbok squad on October 29.
The Springbok squad of 26 to undertake the tour will only be selected on the evening of the Bankfin Currie Cup final.
"October is an extremely important month for all the players. They have to know they are playing for more than Currie Cup honour each week. We, as a national selection panel, are constantly looking at players who can improve the squad that completed the Vodacom Tri-Nations," said Straeuli.
"I want to stress that if a player is not in any of these squads, he may still force his way into the final Bok squad of 26. The door is closed to no one."
The Bok coach added that certain test players had not been included in the three national training squads, but this was not a reflection of their tour prospects.
"I think our selections this season have proved that every player has a shout," said Straeuli. "I want to use these one-day sessions to work on technical aspects, to gauge player fitness and to also try out a few combinations. There are some players who I know can do a job for me.
"They have not been included in the elite squads. They will be at the sessions in the colours of their Super 12 region. There will be motivation for every player. We are considering the claims of both the elite squad and the regional squad players."
