Alberto Del Rio and WWE have mutually agreed upon the terms of his release, the company announced on Friday.
The 39-year-old Del Rio, whose real name is Jose Rodriguez, saw his second stint in WWE come to a close less than one month after he was suspended 30 days for violating its talent wellness policy.
Del Rio tweeted out a response to his release minutes after WWE made the formal announcement.

A native of Mexico, Del Rio is a four-time WWE world champion, two-time United States champion and the winner of both the largest Royal Rumble match in WWE history (2011) and the Money in the Bank ladder match that same year.
Del Rio, who originally signed with WWE in 2010, was fired in August 2014 following a physical confrontation backstage after a WWE employee reportedly used racially charged language. He was rehired in 2015 and made a surprise return at Hell in a Cell in October, defeating John Cena for the U.S. championship.
Del Rio comes from a noted wrestling family, which includes his father, Mexican legend Dos Caras, and his uncles Sicodelico and WWE Hall of Famer Mil Mascaras. Del Rio's younger brother, Guillermo Rodriguez, briefly wrestled in NXT, WWE's developmental territory, under the name Memo Montenegro before his 2013 release.
Along with his wrestling career, Del Rio also has experience as a professional mixed martial artist, sporting a record of 9-5 between 2001 and 2010 under the name Dos Caras Jr. His most notable bout came in Japan in 2003, when he was knocked out by Pride and UFC veteran Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic via head kick. He also captured a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1999 Pan American games.
