San Sebastian guard RK Ilagan has decided to skip his final year in the NCAA in favor of joining the upcoming PBA Rookie Draft.

Ilagan confirmed the move to ESPN5.com and said he had already personally submitted his application on Wednesday.

"Before I decided, I consulted with my parents and they said I should take the chance," he said in Filipino on Thursday. "I'm thankful to San Sebastian for accepting me."

Ilagan had a remarkable four-year career with the Golden Stags and was often regarded as one of the most prolific scorers in the collegiate scene.

The 23-year-old guard pushed San Sebastian alongside Allyn Bulanadi to a top-four finish in Season 95 and was widely expected to be the main man in the upcoming season.

His last game in a Stags uniform came March 5 last year, when Ilagan put up 22 points, eight assists, five rebounds, two steals and a block in a 113-67 romp of AMA Online Senior High in the 2020 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup.

In his last NCAA game, a stepladder knockout match in September 2019, Ilagan dropped 36 points in an 80-85 loss to the eventual champions Letran Knights.

Draft proceedings will be held virtually on March 14.
