A breakdown of the Atlanta Falcons' 2018 draft class and its progress after three weeks of training camp:
Calvin Ridley, WR, Round 1: Ridley has been every bit the first-round pick the Falcons had hoped for with his smooth route-running and sure hands. His explosive ability has led to coach Dan Quinn giving Ridley serious consideration as the primary kickoff returner.
Isaiah Oliver, CB, Round 2: Oliver has had a couple hiccups, getting burned for a touchdown against the Chiefs and not being sure-handed on punt returns. However, Oliver has plenty of promise with his length and athletic ability.
Deadrin Senat, DT, Round 3: Senat's compact body type (6-foot, 314 pounds) is similar to teammate Grady Jarrett, and he's learning the tricks of the trade from Jarrett daily. Senat should bring depth at both interior spots, but needs to improve his pass rush.
Ito Smith, RB, Round 4: Smith was held back by injury early in camp and had a couple penalties in the first two preseason games. He'll have to show he can contribute on special teams -- maybe as a returner if he stops muffing kicks -- to solidify a spot behind Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.
Russell Gage, WR, Round 6: Gage is an intriguing talent who came in playing both receiver and defensive back. His speed and ability to go up and get the ball caught the eye of Quinn, who mentioned Gage as a possible deep threat on offense. Gage should make an impact on special teams coverage immediately.
Foyesade Oluokun, LB, Round 6: The Yale product immediately caught the coaches' attention with his athleticism and sure tackling. An injury to Deion Jones gave Oluokun a chance to start the second preseason game, and the moment wasn't too big. He's shown he can run and hit hard on special teams.
