Bills facing another well-rested opponent

For the sixth and final time this season, the Buffalo Bills will face an opponent coming off extra rest when they travel to play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Jaguars last played on a Thursday night -- 27-20 home win over the Houston Texans on Dec. 5.

Bills CEO Russ Brandon said last month that he has raised the issue to the league office, and on Wednesday, coach Doug Marrone was asked whether this team is at a disadvantage by playing over a third of their schedule against well-rested teams.

"Is there frustration in that? To a certain extent, but that is in the back of my mind," he said. "That is not at the forefront. Our job is -- we have nothing to do with the schedule. When it comes out, our job is to play and win no matter where we are. No different. To sit here and complain about this and complain about that, why? Why? You think when I say anyone is going to feel sorry for us? No."

The disadvantage may not be as significant as its perceived. According to the Associated Press, teams facing opponents on extra rest are a combined 62-64-2 since the start of last season.
