Saints-Panthers inactives: Who's in, who's out Week 17

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers announced their list of inactives for Sunday’s game at Bank of America Stadium.

New Orleans’ inactives are safety Vonn Bell (knee), safety Marcus Williams (groin), cornerback Eli Apple (ankle), fullback Zach Line, linebacker Manti Te'o, DE Noah Spence and offensive lineman Ethan Greenidge.

That left the Saints without three starters in the secondary, increasing the odds that Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey get the 67 receiving yards he needs to become the third player in NFL history to have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season.

Carolina’s inactives are linebacker Shaq Thompson (shoulder/ankle), wide receiver DJ Moore (concussion), DE Marquis Haynes (knee), CB Corn Elder (illness), OL Matt Kaskey, DE Christian Miller and DT Woodrow Hamilton.

Defensive tackle Vernon Butler was active a week after being ejected for punching Indianapolis tight end Jack Doyle and then giving fans the middle finger as he was escorted off the field.

Interim coach Perry Fewell said as late as Friday he still was evaluating whether Butler would play.
