OXNARD, Calif. -- Dak Prescott was nearly perfect in the Dallas Cowboys' first full practice in California in a week.
Prescott completed 13 of 16 passes in team and 7-on-7 work Monday. He nearly had a pass intercepted by Byron Jones in 7-on-7, one incompletion that could have been ruled a drop and the final one came when Cole Beasley slipped.
His best throw, however, came in team drills. Under pressure up the middle, Prescott slid to his left and perfectly floated a pass to tight end Jason Witten, who slipped away from Sean Lee for nice gain.
In seven padded practices, Prescott has completed 80 of 112 passes (71.4 percent) with three interceptions in team and 7-on-7 drills.
In one-on-one work, Witten got past linebacker Mark Nzeocha on a double move down the seam, head faking hard to his right only to come back to his left, which made an off-balance Nzeocha slip. Said somebody from the stands, "That's Hall of Fame action right there."
All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith returned to practice after a week off with a tight back. He appeared to be wearing a neck roll of sorts in practice. Smith took work in team and individual drills and did not look to be slowed at all. On one quick screen he was the lead blocker.
Rookie receiver Ryan Switzer took part in individual drills and returned some punts as he worked back from a hamstring strain. He said the plan is to do more in practice as the week goes on. Defensive linemen Maliek Collins (hip flexor) and David Irving (ankle) were limited in their returns to practice.
The biggest hit of the day belonged to linebacker Jaylon Smith. Filling a hole on a run by his brother, Rod, Smith met fullback Keith Smith in the hole with a loud thud. Jaylon Smith continued to do his work in team and 7-on-7 drills.
Kicker Dan Bailey made his six kicks between 33 and 49 yards, continuing his streak in camp. He is now 24-for-24 in special teams' drills in camp.
Offensive lineman Chaz Green went through a hard workout off to the side with strength coach Kendall Smith. Green appeared to be wearing a harness on his left shoulder. He suffered a muscle strain last week and missed the preseason opener. Cornerbacks Anthony Brown and Jourdan Lewis went through resistance training off to the side as they recover from hamstring strains.
