GREEN BAY, Wis. -- All Corey Linsley wanted was as pain-free season.
He ended with much more than that.
After undergoing offseason surgery to fix an ankle injury, which may have been the result of a previous hamstring injury, the Green Bay Packers center not only played every game for the first time since his rookie season, he played every single snap. He was the only player on the Packers’ roster to do so in the 2017 season.
“I’m glad I could play every snap,” Linsley said after the season. “Half the time, injuries are chance. I think everybody on this offensive line – I feel OK in saying this – everybody on this offensive line would fight through any non-debilitating injury. And they have. Every guy in here is clawing, scratching to play. That says a lot about room and our coach, [James] Campen and just the kind of the culture we have.”
It was the second time in Linsley’s four-year career that he played every snap in a season; he did it as a rookie in 2014, when he played all 1,187 snaps. This past season, his total was 1,047.
It helped Linsley land a three-year, $25.5 million contract extension last month.
Another offensive lineman, guard Jahri Evans, was with Linsley snap for snap for the first 912 of the season until a knee injury kept him out the final two weeks.
Below are the snap counts on offense from the 2017 season. For a comparison, here are last year’s offensive totals.
