NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The biggest post-draft questions still to be answered by the Tennessee Titans:
Is there enough cornerback depth? Adoree' Jackson is in line to be a starter after the Titans spent No. 18 overall on him. Logan Ryan was the top free-agent addition. Those are two new starters. But it wouldn't have been a surprise if the Titans had drafted another corner. They still will be counting on Brice McCain in the slot or looking to inexperienced 2016 fifth-rounder LeShaun Sims to play a key role in the secondary. And if they lose a guy, they could be in a real jam as the other corners on the roster at this point are the last pick in the 2016 draft, Kalan Reed, and D'Joun Smith, a 2015 third-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans need to find a quality guy as an undrafted free agent.
Do they have enough at pass-rusher? The Titans didn't add a pass-rusher until the seventh round, with the 227th overall pick. Josh Carraway from TCU will probably need time to develop. That wait says the Titans are pretty content with what they have got. The defensive line is a strength and has numbers. But depth on the edge is a concern. Behind Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan, hardly youngsters, they have last year's second-rounder in Kevin Dodd, who's still having foot issues, and last year's seventh-rounder, Aaron Wallace, who can also play inside. I thought they'd find some additional insurance earlier in this draft. They could be an injury away from trouble. Or maybe the Titans will pursue former Colts outside linebacker Erik Walden, who remains a free agent.
What's Frisman Jackson's influence? The Titans' new receivers coach, Frisman Jackson, came from Temple and played in the NFL for offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie. Jackson must develop a first-rounder in Corey Davis, a third-rounder in Taywan Taylor and a second-year fifth-rounder in Tajae Sharpe. All will need to be precise, refined route runners and dependable targets for quarterback Marcus Mariota. There is a big adjustment, and Jackson will be a key guy at assisting the transition. He replaced the fired Bob Bratkowski and has a huge spring and summer ahead of him.
