Shakur Stevenson: The next Floyd Mayweather (2:33)

Mark Kriegel examines the similarities between WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. (2:33)

WBO featherweight world titleholder Shakur Stevenson goes up in weight to face Felix Caraballo in the main event of a Top Rank Boxing card on Tuesday at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. The fight will air live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes at 7 p.m. ET.

Stevenson (13-0, 7 KOs), of Newark, New Jersey, fought four times in 2019: a fourth-round TKO victory over Jessie Cris Rosales in January, a unanimous decision against Christopher Diaz in April, a third-round KO victory against Alberto Guevara in July and a unanimous decision over Joet Gonzalez in October to win the vacant title. Stevenson was scheduled to defend his belt against Miguel Marriaga on March 14, but the fight was canceled the day before due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Caraballo (13-1-2, 9 KOs), of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, has won five consecutive fights -- three by stoppage -- since a close decision loss to Pedro Marquez Medina more than two years ago.

To follow social distancing guidelines, ESPN boxing commentator Joe Tessitore will call the fight from the Bristol studios, with former world champions Timothy Bradley Jr. and Andre Ward and boxing analyst Mark Kriegel providing commentary from their respective homes. Reporter Bernardo Osuna will conduct interviews from Las Vegas.
