National signing day is now less than a week away, and the Georgia Bulldogs are working the recruiting trails hard to secure another top class. Who redshirts, Marshall or Gurley? Is Josh Harvey-Clemons planning to continue the Lowndes-to-Tallahassee pipeline? DawgNation answers those questions and more as we dive into Part 2 of the NSD edition of Recruiting Mailbag.
Jwlee99: Hey Kipp, do you think either Keith Marshall or Todd Gurley will redshirt with all of the running backs we currently have?
KA: It's somewhat impossible to predict whether the running backs already in Athens will remain healthy throughout the season, but from taking a look at the backfield now, I would project Gurley to redshirt if the team can manage it. Marshall brings something to the table that no other tailback has: elite speed. He is that home-run threat that every college looks for, and he recently said he is already up to 199 pounds. Gurley has a unique combination of size and speed, but Georgia already has some bigger backs in Ken Malcome and Richard Samuel. Neither is as explosive as Gurley, but both can move the chains and give a different look than Marshall, Isaiah Crowell or Carlton Thomas.
