Normally, missing the net entirely on a slap shot is not the best way to score a goal. The whole point is to get the puck "in the net," not "a foot over the goalie's head."
Don't tell that to Ryan Sproul of the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins, who hopefully called "bank" on this shot.
By the by, let's extend some sympathy to poor Lake Erie Monsters goaltender Calvin Pickard, who literally did not see that goal coming.
