Daniil Kvyat will start from the pit lane at the Japanese Grand Prix after Red Bull had to build him a new car following his qualifying accident on Saturday.
Kvyat will race with a new survival cell in Japan and all engine components plus the gearbox has been changed too. By taking what is essentially a new chassis, Kvyat moves from tenth on the grid to a pit lane start under Article 28.2 of the sporting regulations.
Toro Rosso also had to replace the control electronics on Max Verstappen's car after he stopped in qualifying, but the new component is one of four he is allowed to use this year and he will not be penalised as a result.
