Mercedes reserve driver and DTM champion Pascal Wehrlein is due to test a GP2 car for the first time on Wednesday.
Fresh from a day of tyre testing in Abu Dhabi with Mercedes on Tuesday, Wehrlein will jump behind the wheel of a GP2 car at the same track with the new Prema team. Wehrlein is linked to a drive with Manor in F1 next year, but his future has yet to be confirmed with GP2 a viable option if an F1 seat is not possible.
Wehrlein has tested for Mercedes and Force India in F1 over the last two years and has his sights firmly set on F1 in the future.
