Time to move on from Parsons?

Chandler Parsons has averaged just 15 minutes per game this season in Dallas. Kevin Jairaj/USA TODAY Sports

Each Monday throughout the fantasy basketball season, we will take a closer look at the players who are over-owned (rostered in at least 70 percent of ESPN leagues) and under-owned (rostered in less than 30 percent of ESPN leagues).

Here's a look at the players who stand out this week, with their ownership percentage listed.

Over-owned

Matz

Chandler Parsons, SF, Dallas Mavericks (79.2): Parsons' production and fantasy value will rise as soon as he starts to log more minutes, but you really have to look at your team and ask yourself if you can risk waiting that out because right now, Parsons is of no help. He has averaged just 15 minutes a game and played in only six contests, and the production has been abysmal (38.2 FG%, 5.2 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 0.7 3PG). Unless you have a deep roster that doesn't depend on streaming players each week to stay competitive, you should move on from Parsons.

Matz

J.J. Redick, SG, Los Angeles Clippers (80.4): Redick is overrated in fantasy because at the end of the day, he's primarily a scorer and 3-point threat who doesn't contribute much in other categories (1.6 APG, 0.9 RPG, 0.5 SPG). Back spasms have cost him each of the past two games and could affect his shooting once he returns to the lineup. Unless your roster is loaded and can afford to wait on Redick's return, you may want to drop him and stream that spot with better stat-stuffing options.

Under-owned

Matz

Brandon Jennings, PG, Detroit Pistons (23): Jennings is starting to take part in Pistons practices after coming off an Achilles injury, and appears to be about a month away from returning to game action. He is expected to come off the bench behind Reggie Jackson upon his return, which limits his upside, but a talent like Jennings is worth stashing on your IR spot if you have one.

Matz

Dwight Powell, PF, Dallas Mavericks (18.8): One of the most overlooked players in the NBA, Powell is quietly playing very well off the Mavs' bench (10.9 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 55.6 FG%). His value likely will take a hit once Parsons and Wesley Matthews are fully up to speed, but for right now, he's severely under-owned, given his consistent production over the opening weeks of the season.

Matz

Jeremy Lamb, SG, Charlotte Hornets (16.1): The former lottery pick was an inefficient volume shooter in his first three NBA seasons, but that was then, and this is now. The rangy 23-year-old has found a home in Charlotte, where he is shooting 55.4 percent from the field and averaging 13.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 3-pointers per game. He has played at least 28 minutes in back-to-back games, which is encouraging for his fantasy value going forward.
