Birmingham City defender Jonathan Spector will be sidelined until the start of next year because of a thigh injury.
Manager Lee Clark said Thursday the 28-year-old from Arlington Heights, Illinois, was hurt during last weekend's game against Millwall.
Clark says on the team's website that, "Spector will be out for at least three months. He's torn a thigh muscle and a tendon.
"I think it's a very similar injury to the one he had the season before I got here on the other side."
Spector has made 34 appearances for the U.S. national team and was part of its 2010 World Cup roster.
