Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes has said it would be "impossible" for the Portuguese star to leave Real Madrid for Paris Saint-Germain, while Monaco believe they have no chance of signing him.
Ronaldo, 30, was jeered by Real Madrid fans during their 4-0 home loss to Barcelona on Sunday, which has heightened speculation about the forward's future.
In recent months, Madrid's all-time record goal scorer has been heavily linked with a move to French champions PSG but Mendes has instead tipped Ronaldo to stay in Spain until his career is over.
Speaking in Portuguese on French TV show "Canal Football Club," Mendes was adamant that his client would not be moving to Paris next season.
"It's impossible," Mendes said. "He will end his career at Real Madrid."
Mendes was speaking at Ronaldo's film premiere in London two weeks ago but the interview was only broadcast on French TV on Sunday. The previous weekend's edition of Canal Football Club was cancelled following terrorist attacks in Paris on Nov. 13.
Ronaldo has not been at his best this season but Mendes feels that the man who has won back-to-back Ballon d'Or awards is still the finest player in world football.
"He is like a son for me," Mendes said. "I met him at 15 years old. He was really the best and he is, at the moment, the best player in the world -- and the best ever for sure."
Monaco, who enjoy a close relationship with Mendes and have significant financial backing, had been mentioned as another possible destination for Ronaldo.
However, Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev suggested that it would be unrealistic to think that the former Manchester United player could end up in the principality.
"He's a friend," Vasilyev said of Ronaldo. "He's someone I like a lot and I was at his house two or three times even.
"For me he's the biggest player in the world but, for Monaco's project, it's not really coherent."
