Inter Milan midfielder Adem Ljajic hopes to make his former club regret letting him go to the San Siro this summer.
Ljajic, who moved from Roma to Inter Milan on transfer deadline day, scored the only goal in Inter's 1-0 defeat of Genoa on Saturday.
"This goal really matters and is worth three points, so it's more important. We knew that we had to win tonight and played our football against a very tough side, as Genoa challenge you one-on-one all over the pitch," Ljajic told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium after the game.
"We did very well in the first half too and Mattia Perin performed a great save on my shot. It was decisive that we win this evening. We'll take it one game at a time and then we'll see where we end up."
Ljajic, whose stays at Fiorentina and Roma were marked by inconsistency, has has impressed since joining the Nerazzurri. And he hopes the latter have taken notice of his recent success.
"I try to train hard every day and when the games arrive I work to help the team," Ljajic said. "Sometimes I manage it better than others, but I always try. At the moment I am physically in good shape and hope to continue like this.
"Will I stay at Inter? The clubs will discuss it between themselves. I am happy and try to help the team.
"Do Roma regret me? I hope so."
