U.S. adds LA Galaxy's Alan Gordon to replace injured Jordan Morris

U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann on Tuesday added LA Galaxy forward Alan Gordon to the preliminary squad to face Mexico, replacing the injured Jordan Morris.

The 22-year-old Morris suffered a hamstring strain during the Seattle Sounders' playoff game with FC Dallas on Sunday, and Sounders interim coach Brian Schmetzer had suggested that he would not be able to perform at his best for the U.S. this week.

Gordon has earned two caps with the United States, most recently in the 2015 Gold Cup semifinal defeat to Jamaica.

He also recorded the assist on Eddie Johnson's 90th-minute winner in the a 2012 World Cup Qualifying victory at Antigua and Barbuda.

Klinsmann's men take on Mexico on Nov. 11 in Columbus, Ohio, and travel to Costa Rica four days later.
