TRENDING RUMORS

- Manchester United are considering a move for Atalanta midfielder Éderson, according to Sky Sports Deutschland's Florian Plettenberg. The Brazilian, who made his international debut for the Seleção earlier this year, is under contract at Atalanta until 2027. However, United, needing reinforcements in the middle of the park, could launch a bid for the 25-year-old as early as the January transfer window. Éderson is "highly valued" internally at United, although, as Goal Brazil reports, they could face stiff competition from Manchester City for the player's signature.

- Florian Plettenberg also reports that Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz is Bayern Munich's top target next summer amid strong interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City. Talks have already taken place between Bayern sporting director Max Eberl and the 21-year-old's family over a potential transfer. While the Bundesliga giants are prepared to spend over €100 million on Wirtz, they must first generate funds by letting some first-team players leave on permanent transfers. Nevertheless, making the Germany international Bayern's top priority in 2025 was "unanimously agreed upon" internally at all levels.

- Manchester City are eyeing a potential move for Sporting CP winger Maxi Araujo, Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke reports. The 24-year-old has established himself as a rising star in European football this season, with his strike against City in the UEFA Champions League doing that reputation no harm at all. Araujo arrived at Sporting from Mexican club Toluca back in August, but already he has impressed City's scouts with three goals and two assists in all competitions.

- Liverpool are set to launch an audacious second bid for Real Sociedad's Martín Zubimendi in January, reports TeamTalk. The outlet reveals that a move is "very much on the cards", despite Zubimendi rejecting a move to Anfield in the summer. Reports indicate that the Reds previously agreed to meet the Spanish midfielder's $66.7m release clause, only for him to choose to stay put at Sociedad and sign a new deal. However, that contract is yet to be signed amid suggestions that Zubimendi has had a change of heart in the intervening months.

- Atlético Madrid are set to rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of United States international midfielder Johnny Cardoso next summer, Estadio Deportivo reports. Cardoso, 23, only joined Betis from Brazilian club Internacional at the start of the year, but his performances in LaLiga and for the USMNT could earn him a big-money transfer out of the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
