Isaac Humphries has agreed to a new multi-year deal to remain with the Adelaide 36ers, sources told ESPN.

The Australian big-man will sign a three-year deal with the 36ers, sources said, keeping him with the franchise through the 2026-27 NBL season.

Humphries is coming off the most productive season of his career, averaging 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game for the 36ers. The 7-foot centre's production increased when Scott Ninnis took over as interim head coach, averaging 18 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in those 15 contests. He played all 28 games over the 36ers' 2023-24 season.

Humphries was a high priority re-signing for Ninnis and the 36ers' front office once the team's season came to an end. Talks between Humphries' camp and the 36ers broke down early in the negotiation process, sources said, but both parties re-engaged and were able to strike a deal.

Humphries' decision came down to the 36ers and Sydney Kings, who were in a position to table a strong offer for the 26-year-old, sources said.

With the impending signing, the 36ers will now retain the two marquee-level players within their local core - Humphries and Dejan Vasiljevic - going into the 2024 NBL Free Agency. It comes on the back of the 36ers signing Ninnis to a two-year deal to remain head coach of the team.

Humphries is a one-time NBL Rookie of the Year -- playing his first professional season with the Kings in the 2017-18 campaign -- and was on the Atlanta Hawks' roster for the backend of the 2018-19 NBA season. He played two seasons of college basketball with the Kentucky Wildcats.

Humphries spent two seasons with the 36ers from 2020-2022, before joining Melbourne United for one campaign. This new deal will keep Humphries with the 36ers through his fifth total season with the franchise.

The Sydney-native was a member of the Australian Boomers team for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers in February.

In November of 2022, Humphries came out as gay, becoming the only openly gay male playing in a top tier basketball league.

Humphries will join Vasiljevic, Sunday Dech, Jason Cadee, Nick Marshall, and Jacob Wiley (mutual option) as contracted players going into the 2024-25 NBL season.
