Bucs 347-pound DT Vita Vea snags his first career TD catch

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

ATLANTA -- Two weeks after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trotted out 347-pound defensive tackle Vita Vea on offense as a run-blocker for Peyton Barber's game-winning touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals, quarterback Jameis Winston called his number in the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown catch against the Atlanta Falcons.

Vea lined up in the backfield and ran to the flat completely untouched for his first-career NFL touchdown, giving the Bucs a 19-10 lead just before halftime. Once a running back at Milpitas High School (he weighed 235 pounds then), Vea rushed for over 578 yards and 11 touchdowns his senior year.

Vea is the heaviest player with an offensive TD this season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. The previous heaviest was Ravens offensive lineman David Quessenberry, who weighs 310 pounds.

Bucs Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp also caught a touchdown pass against the Falcons in 2003.
