Javon Kinlaw's pick-six of Jared Goff adds to San Francisco 49ers' takeaway party

One game and two weeks after coming up with his first sack, San Francisco 49ers rookie defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw checked off two more career firsts Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams: interception and touchdown.

Those two things came on the same play. With 14:22 to go in the third quarter, Rams quarterback Jared Goff dropped back to pass and looked for receiver Cooper Kupp on the left side. But Niners defensive tackle Kevin Givens got pressure on Goff, forcing his throw to go right to Kinlaw.

The first-round pick out of South Carolina showed off his soft hands, snatching the pass and racing 27 yards for a touchdown to stake the 49ers to a 14-3 lead early in the third quarter. The takeaway was San Francisco's fourth of the day and second interception of Goff.

Kinlaw's touchdown was the Niners' first non-offensive touchdown of the season and their first pick-six since linebacker Fred Warner also returned a Goff interception for a score in Week 16 last season.
