JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars leading receiver Cecil Shorts III has passed his post-concussion test, but has not been cleared to practice or play.
Coach Mike Mularkey says Shorts is still dealing with concussion symptoms. He sat out practice Wednesday, making it unclear whether he will play Sunday against the New York Jets.
Shorts leads the Jaguars (2-10) with 43 receptions for 824 yards and seven touchdowns. If he can't play, rookie Kevin Elliott likely would start against the Jets.
Running back Rashad Jennings and defensive end George Selvie, meanwhile, have not passed their post-concussion tests.
The Jaguars also were without cornerback Aaron Ross (calf), running back Maurice Jones-Drew (foot), fullback Greg Jones (thigh), defensive end Austen Lane (foot) and guard Mike Brewster (hand) in practice Wednesday.
