Craig Quinnell looks destined for a move back to Wales following his sudden departure from Zurich Premiership club Saracens.
The burly lock, capped 31 times by Wales, has left Vicarage Road just months after agreeing a substantial six-figure deal.
Despite Quinnell featuring prominently during Saracens' pre-season spending, his first team opportunities were limited, and an agreement has now been reached for him to play elsewhere.
Saracens have not divulged details of the background to their surprise announcement, but 27-year-old Quinnell's international ambitions would suggest that a switch back across the Severn Bridge is possible.
"We wish Craig every success for the future," said Saracens coach Wayne Shelford."Knowing his strong desire to play again for his country, when a number of clubs expressed an interest, we all agreed it was best for him to move on straight away. We look forward to seeing him in the colours of his country once more."
Shelford's immediate concern is gaining maximum points from tomorrow's home Premiership appointment with Leeds.
Saracens, currently five places below the Tykes in eighth place, make three changes following last weekend's Powergen Cup success against Sale Sharks, with Kevin Sorrell starting at centre, Tim Horan replacing injured fly-half Thomas Castaignede, and lock Abdel Benazzi taking over from Craig Yandell.
