The Chicago Bears waived 2014 second-round pick Ego Ferguson on Friday, the club announced.
Ferguson appeared in only 20 games over three years with the Bears, missing the entire 2016 season with a shoulder injury. Ferguson also sat out 12 games in 2015 due to a knee injury.
Ferguson’s best season came in 2014 when, as a rookie, the defensive lineman had 23 tackles and two sacks.
Ferguson is the third member of the 2014 draft class to leave the organization, joining safety Brock Vereen and quarterback David Fales. That daft's top Chicago pick, Kyle Fuller, remains on the roster, but his future is in doubt after the Bears signed cornerbacks Prince Amukamara and Marcus Cooper in free agency.
