          Chase Daniel pulls bucket hat low, pulls prank on teammates

          A master impostor Chase Daniel is not.

          But a Chicago Bears bucket hat, a Mitchell Trubisky jersey and some sunglasses were enough for the backup quarterback to fool several teammates, including Trubisky, in a video released on the team's official Twitter account on Tuesday.

          Appearing on "The Dan Patrick Show" on Wednesday, Daniel talked about the prank in which he pulled the hat low and joined fans to ask for autographs at the Bears' training camp in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

          "It was pretty funny," Daniel told the show. "The social media staff here had the idea and had been floating it around for a couple of weeks. At first I didn't really want to do it, but it started to grow on me and I saw where it could go. It probably turned out a little bit better than we thought."

          As of 10 a.m. Central time on Wednesday the tweet from the official Bears account had more than 6,000 likes and 1,800 retweets.

          Daniel, a 10-year veteran, didn't get too elaborate in his disguise.

          "I saw a bucket hat laying around and I figured nothing better to wear at camp on a sunny day than a nice little bucket hat," Daniel said. "I got some Nike shades, put the Mitch jersey and just rolled."

          In the video Daniel gets autographs from several players without being recognized. He asks rookie Kylie Fitts what his signing bonus was and starts an "Akiem the dream!" chant when Akiem Hicks approaches the kids gathered behind the fence.

          But the highlight for Daniel was fooling Trubisky, the second-year player with whom he shares the quarterback room.

          "He's getting so much stuff for that," Daniel said. "He was so focused in, just signing stuff, and all of a sudden he sees this big kid. He told (the staff), 'I saw the beard but i didn't put two and two together. I was just so focused in on signing autographs.'

          "His reaction was pretty priceless. I think that was one of the best things in the video."
