BEREA, Ohio -- Kevin Zeitler said the right thumb procedure that kept him out of Wednesday’s practice will not affect him in the Cleveland Browns' game Sunday in Baltimore.

“It’s nothing major, it’s taken care of, and I’m ready to go,” Zeitler said Friday.

Zeitler would only call the thumb sore after the season-opening loss to the Steelers. He had a procedure Monday night for what he called “a super sore thumb,” and will be ready to go Sunday, coach Hue Jackson said.

It’s important he is.

In the Ravens, the Browns face a team that Joe Thomas said may be the best front seven the Browns will face all season. In their opener, the Ravens shut out the Bengals and had five sacks and four interceptions for the first time in team history. The Ravens gave up 3.8 yards per play and 77 yards rushing. Meanwhile, Browns rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer was sacked seven times in his debut against the Steelers.

Whether Zeitler is 100 percent effective remains to be seen. If he’s not, the Browns have second-year player Spencer Drango behind him.

Drango started nine game for the Browns as a rookie.

Zeitler was given a $60 million free-agent contract by the Browns in the offseason. He now finds himself in an interesting spot.

He’s a Wisconsin guy like his teammate Thomas, and Thomas this week talked about playing through injuries while not missing a snap since he was drafted third by the Browns in 2007.

With his fourth snap Sunday, Thomas will have played 10,000 snaps in a row.

“My mindset is I can play so I’m going to play, and I’m going to leave it all on the field,” Zeitler said.
