Jaguars rookies Ronnie Harrison, Leon Jacobs have started fast

Jaguars safety Ronnie Harrison is pushing for a starting job in his first training camp. Brace Hemmelgarn/USA Today Sports

A breakdown of the Jacksonville Jaguars' 2018 draft class and its progress after three weeks of training camp:

Taven Bryan, DT/DE, Round 1: Calais Campbell called him the best rookie he's seen in his career. Bryan has worked mainly at big end behind Campbell and just soaks up information. He missed the first two preseason games with an abdominal strain, but should be back for the third.

D.J. Chark, WR, Round 2: He was impressive in camp working against A.J. Bouye and Jalen Ramsey, but has only caught three passes for 25 yards in two preseason games. Like all rookies, he will need to adjust to press coverage.

Ronnie Harrison, S, Round 3: The original plan was to keep him at strong safety, but he's been so impressive the Jaguars have worked him at free safety, too, and he started there in second preseason game.

Will Richardson, Jr., OL, Round 4: Like most rookie linemen, he needs to get stronger in his upper body. His strength and power in his lower body is impressive as a run blocker. He needs a year to develop into starter at right tackle.

Tanner Lee, QB, Round 6: You can see what the Jaguars liked (big kid with a big arm), but he misses on too many basic, easy throws. Then he'll drop one in perfectly deep down the sideline. He needs to be more consistent.

Leon Jacobs, LB, Round 7: He's been the starter at strongside linebacker since camp opened. Teammate Myles Jack said he's further along than Jack was as a rookie and is exceptionally smart.

Logan Cooke, P, Round 7: He had a few issues in camp but has been very good in the team's two preseason games: five punts inside the 20 and a 43.0 yard average on nine punts.
