FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham was speaking with reporters Saturday after being selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round and reflected on being part of "Draft Academy," an eight-part documentary on ESPN+ that followed players on their journey to the NFL draft.

"It’s been great to document this whole process because not a lot of guys get to go through it, so just doing that and getting my story out there a little bit and seeing what kind of person I am in football and outside of football -- that whole process has been a lot of fun," he said.

As part of the documentary, quarterbacks coach Jordan Palmer noted he is selective with whom he works leading into the draft, saying he wants quarterbacks who have a proven track record dealing with adversity.

Stidham, a four-star recruit out of high school from Texas who initially attended Baylor before landing at Auburn, fit the bill.

"There's going to be a lot of ups and downs in my career moving forward," Stidham said in Draft Academy. "I think I'm going to be able to weather the storm better just because I've been doing it for a really long time."

Palmer calls Stidham a problem solver, which is why he thinks a successful career is ahead for him.
