Tim Tszyu opens as heavy favourite to defeat Jeff Horn

Undefeated Tim Tszyu has opened as a considerable favourite to beat former world champion Jeff Horn in their much anticipated April 22nd super welterweight bout.

Tszyu (15-0-0), son of Australian boxing legend Kostya, is as short as $1.50 with some bookmakers to win the fight, while Horn (20-2-1) is around a $2.45 outsider.

The winner will not only earn Australian bragging rights as the nation's unofficial No. 1 fighter, but is also very likely to land a world title shot later in the year.

Tszyu, 25, last tasted victory in December when he stopped Jack Brubaker in the fourth round of their fight in Sydney. Horn also earned a win last December when he scored a points decision over Michael Zerafa, but only after he had been stopped by the Victorian when they first fought in August.

Earlier in the month, Tszyu said he was "ready for this step" and laughed off those who believe he will be out of his depth when he faces Horn, the man who defeated future Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium in 2017.

A venue for the fight is still yet to be confirmed. Believed to be leading the race is the Brisbane Exhibition Centre, but it's understood Sydney's Bankwest Stadium and Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne are also possibilities. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
