As of signing day, ESPNU ranks Michigan's class No. 8 in the country. Brady Hoke started building this class early on, securing the first 20 commitments before the calendar had even considered turning to September.

It's fair to call this a transitional class as Hoke, offensive coordinator Al Borges and defensive coordinator Greg Mattison look for players who better fit their preferred schemes. It's no secret the Wolverines will become a pro-style offense once Denard Robinson is finished after the 2012 season, putting a premium on bigger wide receivers and pass-catching tight ends in this class. Mattison also wants to get bigger up front, and Michigan made some headway there, as well.
