Quite possibly the high point of Euro 2016 so far came when Twitter users realised that the match hashtag for Wales' final group game against Russia would read "#WALRUS."
This, of course, led to widespread mirth as fans used the occasion to post a never-ending cavalcade of images and videos as an impromptu walrus party sprang into life.
Honestly #WALRUS is the best hashtag of #Euro2016 thus far... pic.twitter.com/DIfatR90aE

Given the excitement about the #WALRUS hashtag, we should make sure that in the next World Cup Qualifiers, Armenia plays Pitcairn.

Everything was going swimmingly, right up until the point that UEFA decided to ruin the fun for everybody by pointing out that, as Russia were the "home" team, the official hashtag was actually #RUSWAL.
With Russia as the home team v Wales, the official # for this game is #RUSWAL ... Not the funny one pic.twitter.com/wfo75Oepws
