Borussia Monchengladbach star Granit Xhaka has Premier League 'dream'

Reported Arsenal and Chelsea target Granit Xhaka has said playing in the Premier League would realise a "childhood dream," but added that Borussia Monchengladbach have yet to receive any offers for him.

German newspaper Bild has reported that Xhaka, 23, is also interesting Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

But speaking to Monchengladbach fanzine torfabrik.de, the Switzerland international said such talk was "only speculation."

At the weekend, club sporting director Max Eberl said he could not rule out an exit at the end of the season if a sufficient offer was made.

Xhaka is under contract until 2019, but a €30 million release clause can reportedly be activated in summer 2017 -- meaning next summer would be the last chance for Gladbach to sell him for more than that.

He has said he would be open to a move to a "top, top, top club" and told the fanzine: "I have a childhood dream, and that is the Premier League. No matter if I play a second or 100 matches in England, I would one day love to fulfil that childhood dream.

"I read about those things [speculated moves], sure, and overhear a lot of things, but it's only speculation. I am not interested in it.

"If there was something or the club had something [an offer], then we'd sit down. But currently there is nothing.

"I am under contract until 2019, feel great here, and I am happy. That's the state of things."

Xhaka, who wears No. 34 at Gladbach, joked that he had already been in touch with Arsenal's No. 34 Francis Coquelin.

"Yeah, I already he talked to him -- he'd take another number," he said.
